Monday
Struggling for a new thing today, I had to go into a jewellery shop in Rickmansworth, under the pretence of looking for a watch. When I came out again, I realised that I used to be very atttached to my watch and couldn't cope without it - as I was a teacher for a couple of years, it was an essential tool in my lesson planning. But now I use my mobile phone to tell the time. No wonder I'm so reliant on the damn thing.

Sunday
New thing was going to McDonalds somewhere on the A4. VERY hungover after celebrating Ireland's win last night, so needed something stodgy and unhealthy. There's my wholesome image gone...
Saturday
Again, lots of interesting things, but in terms of new things, I went to the top floor of O'Neill's in Central London to watch Ireland v England at rugby. Except the TV broke just before the match. A fellow Ireland supporter sent me the following text before the match: "Ireland may be without Horgan for today's match, a strong player that any team would struggle without. That said, the English will be without the armoured cars and machine guns that they brought the last time they were at Croke Park...."
Friday
Lots of interesting things happened today, but in terms of new things, the first was going to my colleague's house. He's extremely discreet, so I was flattered that he showed me round. The other new things were a couple of bars in Ealing and an Indian restaurant in Hanwell - food was amazing, service was not.

Friday
Nearly died trying to do my new thing last night. I stopped on Greenford Avenue and went to get some chips in a chip shop I'd never been to before. Then decided to be healthy, so didn't buy any.

Wednesday
New thing today was going to the centre of Aldershot. Doesn't warrant any more writing than that.
Tuesday
Today's new thing was entering a clothes shop in Rickmansworth. I won't be doing that again - £65 for a t-shirt?!!!
Monday
Monday's new things were various bits and bobs on the Isle of Wight. I went to a nice restaurant called Liberty in Ryde, and also popped to Newport to go to the offices of the Isle of Wight County Press. I love the Wight Island, even though i'm not yet old enough to move there.
Sunday
Sunday's new thing was taking my boyfriend to Bella Italia in Ealing which was quite nice. He ordered garlic bread, and before I knew it, I'd eaten half of it, and had to buy a sprig of parsley to eliminate the stench.
Saturday
Today's new thing was going to Hemel Hempstead. Not just because the name amused me, but because my boyf and I are looking for houses.
Friday
Had a drink in a new bar in Rickmansworth called Vines or something. That was it for new things.

Thursday
Yesterday was Valentine's Day, which I hate...Begged my boyf not to waste money on any tat. He didn't! Got home, and tried to strike up a conversation with my house mate, who either ignored me, or became mute - not sure which. So I ended up spending Valentine's at the Morrison's store in Acton - my new thing of the day.
Wednesday
Busy today, so doing something new was far down my to do list! Ended up driving down a side road which turns off my route home. It then turns into a dead end, and involves reversing back between two rows of parked cars...at least I'll know not to do that again....

Tuesday
Yesterday's new thing was driving through Gerrard's Cross up to Amersham and then Hyde Heath for an osteopath appointment. I'd never been to an osteopath before, but had to as my back has been playing up for about six months. But it was great. After being manipulated and folded around, and listening to the extraordinary popping noises that my spine was making, I actually felt much better! My wallet didn't though.

Monday
New thing today was missing the turning for the M25 AGAIN, and ending up having to take a ridiculous route through London. At my sister's request, I stopped off at Aldi on the Old Kent Road for some ice cream and lemonade. Was too tired to tell the man in front of me that his child had put lots of batteries on the conveyor belt...
Sunday
Yesterday's new thing was going to a pub called the Rising Sun in a place called Pluck's Gutter, which sounds like Cockney Rhyming Slang.....
I had a Hoegaarden, which tasted revolting. I asked the landlady to replace it, which she did, but she was so fierce, that I didn't dare tell her that the second one was as bad as the first...

Saturday
Yesterday's new thing was going swimming with two colleagues. They showed me the swimming pool at Eastcote, and we headed there as soon as our boss uttered the words: "You can go early tonight". Had never been to Eastcote before, and never seen a swimming pool so filled with bits of torn toilet paper. I had to keep lending my goggles to my colleagues as they wouldn't believe me. The other new thing was popping into Waitrose in Eastcote to get some soya milk.
Friday
England shuts down when it snows. Or we're a nation of lazy people waiting for the slightest reason not to go to work. I made it to work through the snow, skidded a bit near work, but nothing pulling up the handbrake couldn't sort out (wouldn't recommend this!). However, my boss, and my colleague who owns a 4x4 and lives half a mile away couldn't make it to work through the snow. So, it was difficult to do something new. I left work early for fear of getting stranded at work, and thought I would drive through the village of Denham, but it seems, I've seen all of it already. It gets better every time I drive through it, but my new thing was driving through Ealing and finding a new road which connects my nearest Tesco store to the A40. Useful, but not very interesting.

Thursday
My new thing on Wednesday was going out for a walk at lunchtime, and discovering a lane behind our office car park, which takes you along a lovely old road, which gives beautiful views over the canal. Three times I tried to get down to the canal. twice I ended up in people's front gardens, and the third time there were lots of ducks blocking the way which put me in mind of the Bernard Matthews turkey farm bird flu story that hit the headlines over the weekend.
Wednesday
Running out of things to do, I had to go into an estate agent in Rickmansworth as my new thing for the day. I was almost leapt on by three people, which I take to be an indicator that the UK housing market is FINALLY slowing down. I wish. The cheapest house they had was £189,000 - which was a two up two down terrace. Absolutely tiny.

Monday
Went to West Bay today, but then there was nothing new in that. Had an action packed day, but the only thing that was new was heading up a cul-de-sac in SHerborne that I didn't know existed.
Sunday
I went into lots of new places in Dorchester today, but since I lived here when I was a kid, I can't remember if all of these things were new. One thing I definitely did that was new was heading upstairs in the Millets store in town to get a tent and a sleeping bag. I also got a form for the Glastonbury Festival, but I don't think the boyf wants to go after we went in 2005 and he woke up with his head in a puddle of water.
Saturday
Yesterday's new thing was driving around Hereford looking for the branch of my office, before I accidentally wound up in Wales twice. Didn't have to pay to leave fortunately.
