A new bike shop near my house checking out trailers so the McBaby can be towed by bike when (if) the weather gets warmer.
Sunday, 24th
A lovely walk turned up no newness, so we warmed up by watching Way Out West by Laurel and Hardy. I prefer the band to the film (and not just because one member is a family friend!)
I went to the most amazing house today to meet a client. Amazing! Also had a great history so I had actually been here before, but it's undergone such a radical overhaul that it still counts as a new thing -plus I got a tour, so saw more than I did last time (which was in 2004)!
It's telling, isn't it, that last week (which we spent on the south coast of France), I didn't include our spending.
Today's total was £8.68 on fruit
Tuesday, 12
New thing today was going to Toastmasters which I describe officially here and unofficially here

On way back from swimming, I had a quick look at a house that an estate agent thinks is the one for us in Sylvester CLose. It isn't.
£29.17 - groceries/nappies etc
Saturday, 16th
We watched Burn After Reading. You have until tomorrow lunchtime to leave a comment with a way of contacting you if you want me to send you this DVD!
It's not bad, but not great. It was David Rasche in it and I love him.
Spending £26.42 (groceries)
Sunday, 17th
A long walk including a confrontation with a scary swan near Midgham.
Spending £10.30 including the world's most expensive potatoes at £2.46 for 4!
The waiting room for the airport bus at Reading's train station, and a pre-flight pint at a bar at terminal five, but then the exciting stuff started when we arrived at Nice. We had a lovely taxi driver to the Novotel, chucked our bags and ran round the corner to Avenue de la Republique to meet our friends in a fab restaurant called Vino Mundi.
Tuesday, 5
A lovely breakfast at Campo Caffe in PLace Garibaldi before heading to the old town. Lunch at the MIrador before I nearly dropped the McBaby into the sea. Then the super futuristic tram to Vingt4!
Wednesday, 6
A walk to the market and a lunch sandwich on the seafront before a beer by the port and a walk around the antiques market (I am an antique dealer myself these days, after all). Then a strange drink in O'Staff and then a wonderful meal at Vingt4 (only interrupted by the McBaby being an utter pain).
Thursday, 7
Home. Poo. New thing was the taxi that took us to the airport and "breakfast" at Paul in the airport.
Friday, 8
Looked at a house in Feltre Place. Literally, looked at it. I wouldn't go in!
Saturday, 9
A room at the nursery! Boring!
Sunday, 10
Chinese New Year so a meal in Thatcham. Desperate to find a new thing, I went into a pub opposite called Crickets and came out again.
February? You're here? Where did January go? And just what did I do with those 31 days?
Well for the last week:
Monday, 28th January
The car park behind my new stall!
Spends: £65.33 (ON WHAT?!)
Tuesday, 29th January
A lovely house in Beenham for a client meeting, then two hairdressers I've never been to; Kaven in Theale where they were lovely but there were no hairdressers working, and then De la Cruz in Thatcham which was terrifying, but cheap.
Hair: £18
Groceries: 44.59
Wednesday, 30th January
A Young Doctor's notebook. I don't like meat, but who doesn't love Jon Hamm. He plays a doctor looking back on his life and watching his younger self (Daniel Radcliffe) as a country doctor in revolutionary Russia. It's brutal and not the funny watch I thought it would be. Eeek.
£42 on babysitting (faints)
£1.85 milk
Thursday, 1st February
The offices of What Car? where McBaby and I checked out the Toyota Verso; our adventures here
£38.46 food
Friday, 2nd February
Our new shop!
